The contrast comes from crunchy salted peanuts and a layer of melted chocolate, which ties everything together into a rich yet balanced dessert.

Millet Dessert with Dates, Salted Peanuts & Chocolate
Ingredients
- 100 g dates + 100 g water about 3.5 oz dates + ⅓ cup water
- 200 g millet millet groats (about 1 cup)
- 600 g milk dairy or plant-based (about 2½ cups)
- 20 g cane sugar about 1½ tbsp
- 100 g salted peanuts about ¾ cup
- 50 g chocolate dark or milk (about 1.75 oz)
Instructions
Prepare the date paste
- Place the dates in a bowl and cover them with hot water (100 g / ⅓ cup). Leave to soak for a few hours or until very soft.Transfer the soaked dates together with the soaking water to the Thermomix bowl and blend1 min / speed 10, until smooth and creamy.Pour the date paste back into the soaking bowl and set aside.
Cook the millet
- Rinse the millet thoroughly with boiling water to remove bitterness.Add the milk and rinsed millet to the Thermomix bowl.Cook 20 min / 90°C / speed 1.During the last minutes of cooking, add the cane sugar.
Melt the chocolate using steam
- Place the measuring cup or simmering basket on the lid of the Thermomix.Put the chocolate into the basket and let it melt gently from the steam while the millet finishes cooking.If the chocolate is too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons of milk and stir until smooth.
Blend the millet
- Once cooked, blend the millet mixture1 min / speed 10, until creamy and smooth.
Prepare the peanuts
- Lightly crush the salted peanuts using a rolling pin or by hand — they should remain chunky for texture.
Assemble the dessert
